These twins in the heading refer to the Twin Towers(World Trade Center) that resided in New York. Most of its architectural design was done by Minoru Yamasaki, engineered by Leslie Robertson, and developed by New York and New Jersey’s Port Authority. The idea originally came from David Rockefeller who had his strongest support come from his very own brother, New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller, back in 1960. This World Trade Center was part of a large chain of World Trade Center all over the globe.
The Twin Towers has usually been the site of bad happenings in the past. There was a fire in 1975 and a bombing in 1993. Sadly, these twins were destroyed in 2001 due to a plane crash.
The Twin Towers instantly became a symbol of New York City. But this building faced hard, architectural criticism. Although the building was initially built for companies dealing in world trade, it, at first, failed to attract those companies. Some critics even called the building’s environment inhospitable. There were also many complaints about the small offices and narrow windows.
The Twin Towers were so large that they even had their own zipcode.
But all was not lost. Even today, the twins, along with the other buildings that were destroyed, are currently being reconstructed more safely and securely.
