This beautiful architectural masterpiece is the creation of Tham & Videgard Hansson architects. This summer house in Stockholm archipelago utilized light building materials such as wood and glass to make it a perfect summer retreat house.

The plan’s layout is generated by the specifics of the site, the house sits on the flat surface between a couple of mountain rocks, facing the sun, the south as well as towards the sea.

The rooms of the house are located in the back, with the rest of the house standing out as an open platform crisscrossed by sliding glass.

Being organized in layers, the big rooms expand in open relationship towards the wooden deck outside the house. The zigzagged layout also serves to shield several outdoor spots from strong wind.

So, what would one’s impression be upon seeing this beautiful glass house for the first time? The large glass panes plus the interplay of light, reflections as well as mirror-like effects greatly contribute to the experience as nature, space and the horizon interact.
