This beautiful mansion called the Vimanmek Palace was formerly a royal palace in Bangkok, Thailand and is mansion is within the Dusit palace complex.
The Palace was built in 1900 by King Rama V. The king had the Munthatu Rattanaroj Residence in Chuthathuj Rachathan at Ko Sichang, Chonburi, removed and re-erected in Dusit Garden was completed in 1901. This mansion served as King Rama V’s royal palace for five years until the Amphorn Satharn Villa was completed in 1906. In 1932, however, the Vimanmek Palace became a storage place of the Bureau of the Royal Household.

In 1982 Queen Sirikit obtained the permission King Rama IX to renovate Vimanmek Palace to be used as a museum in King Rama V’s memory, where his photographs, personal art and handicrafts, and are now on display as part of the Thai national heritage.
The palace has become a major tourist attraction, being the world’s biggest golden teakwood mansion.
